LJB Hires New HS&E Practice Leader

LJB Inc. is excited to announce that Kirk Phillips, former U.S. Air Force Chief of Environmental and Occupational Health, and Chief of Bioenvironmental Engineering has joined the firm as its new HS&E Practice Leader. During his nearly 30-year career with the Air Force, Kirk has become an expert in all aspects of environment, safety and occupational health. In his new role with LJB, he will apply that knowledge and expertise to provide additional value to our clients and expand our service offerings.

Among many achievements during his career, Kirk created the Total Exposure Health Program and reduced the recordable incident rate and days away from work by implementing safety and occupational health metrics using leading indicators. Kirk also led a program that revised the Air Force’s compliance program with a management system approach and increased compliance by 90%.

“Kirk is a results-oriented safety and health leader that has helped the Air Force make significant strides toward providing safer working environments,” said LJB CEO Rod Sommer. “We are excited about leveraging his experience and expertise to reduce risk and drive results for our clients.”
