National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) 2008 National Safety Conference

Kevin E. Wilcox, P.E., C.S.P., principal at LJB Inc., will present "Positive Effects of a Fall Protection Program" with Luke Mazur, safety supervisor for Marathon Petroleum Company's Detroit Refinery. They will present a case study that resulted in 150 percent safety improvement in one year, due to the implementation of a comprehensive fall protection program. The presentation will highlight methods for the implementation of hazard prioritization, conceptual and final design, and procedure development and installation. Finally, the presenters cover ways the program has had a positive impact on the refinery's safety culture.

Kevin E. Wilcox, P.E., C.S.P.
Mr. Wilcox, an LJB principal is a professional structural engineer as well as a certified safety professional with more than 15 years of experience. He has addressed a wide variety of engineering and safety challenges across many types of facilities including manufacturing, institutional and government buildings. Mr. Wilcox was instrumental in the development of LJB's proprietary risk assessment algorithm that is used to prioritize hazards according to risk, enabling LJB's clients to methodically address those hazards.
