As a winner of the 2008 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility, LJB has been distinguished as a leading practitioner of workplace flexibility in Dayton and across the nation.

Willie Wick, a teenager from a small Ohio town thinks he may just have the answer to one of the world’s biggest problems. The unassuming high-schooler came up with this: use nuclear energy for water desalinization. In other words, turn salt water into fresh to meet the world’s ever-growing need for drinking water. Willie earned $2,500 for his winning idea from Ohio-based engineering firm LJB Inc., which is marking its 40th anniversary by asking kids what they hope will be the greatest innovation in the next 40 years.
