LJB Inc. wins two awards from masonry industry
The Mason Contractors Association of Dayton and the Masonry Institute of Dayton recently awarded LJB Inc. with two design awards.
LJB was awarded the Excellence in Masonry Award in Sustainable Design for Tuttle Office Building in Lima, Ohio. LJB also received a Merit Design Award for Pentagon Park in Beavercreek, Ohio.
The awards were presented at a banquet on Dec. 5 in Dayton, Ohio.
Background information on the projects:
Tuttle Office Building – When a long-time construction partner of LJB's needed to rebuild their office facility due to a disaster, they turned to LJB for design services. The project team is working toward LEED-NC Silver Certification for the new 40,000-square-foot two-story facility. Both the project’s construction and finish materials are high in recycled content, providing environmental benefits in addition to their functional and aesthetic qualities.
Pentagon Park – LJB provided architectural, structural and site design services for the creation of the sophisticated Pentagon Park commercial development. The project includes comprehensive site design as well as design of both a two-story and a four-story office building. The brick and stone façade provides a striking presence along a major highway, while maintaining the distinctive aesthetics the developer has cultivated in past projects. The site was designed to accommodate space for the development of restaurants, as well as a full-service hotel and conference center. The overall site design gives the area a coordinated campus feel.
