LJB Earns Tilt-Up Awards

Earning five more Tilt-Up Concrete Association Achievement Awards, LJB continues its position as the industry leader in award-winning projects. At the 2023 TCA Convention & Expo, LJB brought home awards 80-84, having earned awards almost every year between 1992-2023.

This year’s award winners include:

Royal Caribbean Port of Galveston – Galveston, TX

Tilt-up construction was used to build this new cruise terminal, and LJB was brought in to design the wall panels and assist the general contractor with design issues. The two-story, 161,000-square-foot building can hold the largest cruise ship to port in the state.

Bridgeway Station: Block A – Greenville, SC

This 282,000-square-foot mixed used facility is the first six-story tilt-up construction project in the state of South Carolina. The building is partially clad with a mix of original brick and stone to create the look and feel of walking through an Italian village.

Credit Union of Colorado – Denver, CO

LJB was the structural engineer of record for this 129,600-square-foot three-story office building. The striking structure, which is visible from Interstate 70, is centrally located for customers and employees of Credit Union of Colorado.

Redstone Gateway Buildings 6200, 8200 & 8300 – Huntsville, AL

These projects are the three most recently completed structures LJB has designed in the Redstone Gateway complex, strategically located just outside the secure gate of the Redstone Arsenal military base in Huntsville, Alabama.

  • 6200 is a six-story, $36M, Class A office building measuring 180,000 square feet. In total, 50 tilt-up panels of varying thicknesses were cast and erected for this project, with the tallest panel measuring 73 feet tall.
  • 8200 & 8300 encompasses two, build-to-suit five-story facilities and a parking deck, completed on an aggressive schedule for one of the nation’s largest defense contractors. Together, the state-of-the-art, Class A tilt-wall buildings total 260,000 square feet.
