1.     Introduction. LJB Inc. (“LJB,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how LJB collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information obtained in the course of our business, including through LJB’s website, recruiting activities, client and vendor relationships, and inperson interactions.

This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws in the United States and Canada, including U.S. state privacy laws, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2.    Scope. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect (a) through our websites and online forms; (b) during inperson meetings, conferences, and events; (c) through recruiting, hiring, and careerrelated activities; and (d) in connection with client, vendor, and professional communication. This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information collected from employees in the context of employment, which is addressed through separate internal notices and policies, including the employee handbook.

This Privacy Policy does not replace the terms of any written contract between LJB and a client, vendor, teaming partner, employee, applicant, or other party. To the extent a separate written agreement governs a specific engagement or data-processing activity, that agreement will control with respect to that activity.

3.    Information We Collect. LJB may collect information in the following categories depending on the nature of your interaction with LJB (a) personal information (e.g., name, business or personal email, address, phone number, mailing address, and company name and job title); (b) professional and business information (e.g., client or vendor contact details, projectrelated communications, contractual and billing contacts, recruiting and employment information, and publicly available professional profile information); and (c) online and technical information (e.g., IP address, browser type and device information, website usage and interaction data, cookies and similar technologies).

LJB does not intentionally request sensitive personal information through standard lead-generation or marketing forms. Please do not submit sensitive information, confidential project documents, protected health information, government identifiers, financial account information, or other sensitive data through general websites or forms unless LJB has specifically instructed you to do so through a secure process.

4.    Information Submitted on Behalf of an Organization. If you submit information on behalf of a company, public agency, institution, client, contractor, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to provide such information and to receive communications from LJB relating to such submission.

5.    How We Collect Information. LJB collects personal information (a) directly from you when you contact us, engage our services, attend events, or apply for a position; (b) automatically through our website via cookies and analytics technologies; (c) through routine client and vendor communications; (d) through thirdparty recruiting and professional networking platforms.

LJB uses personal information for legitimate business purposes, including to (a) respond to inquiries, proposals, and requests; (b) provide engineering, consulting, and professional services; (c) manage client and vendor relationships; (d) evaluate candidates and manage recruiting and hiring processes; (e) communicate regarding our business, services, and projects; (f) improve our website, systems, and service offerings; (g) to maintain security, prevent fraud or misuse, troubleshoot technical issues, and protect LJB systems; and (h) comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

7.    Legal Basis for Processing Information. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, LJB processes information based on (a) your consent, where required; (b) performance of a contract or steps taken prior to entering into a contract; (c) compliance with legal or regulatory obligations; (d) legitimate business interests that are not overridden by individual rights; and (e) recruiting, hiring, and employmentrelated purposes.

LJB uses links to third-party websites, platforms, social networks, or services, including recruiting and professional networking platforms to support our marketing and hiring activities. LJB and these platforms act as independent controllers of personal information collected through their respective services. Each platform processes personal information in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms. Requests to exercise privacy rights regarding information held by third-party platforms should be directed to such platforms. Requests regarding information held by LJB may be submitted using the contact information in this Policy.

11.  International Data Transfers. LJB is based in the United States and operates in Canada. Personal information may be processed or stored in the United States, Canada, or other jurisdictions where our service providers are located. Where required by applicable law, LJB takes reasonable steps to ensure that crossborder transfers of personal information are subject to appropriate safeguards.

14.  Children’s Privacy. LJB does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and our website and services are not directed to individuals under 13 years of age (or under 16 where required by applicable law). If LJB becomes aware that personal information from a child has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

15.  Drawing Files and Confidential Technical Materials. LJB’s drawing and technical files may contain information that is confidential or proprietary and is solely for the use of the intended recipients. All proprietary rights, including copyright, are specifically reserved. If you are not the intended recipient or the employee or agent responsible for delivering the file to the intended recipient, then you are notified that any disclosure, copying, distribution, or other use of the contents of those files is strictly prohibited.

If you received a drawing file or other confidential technical material in error, please notify LJB as noted in No. 17 below.

No part of any LJB drawing may be used, reproduced, or modified in any manner without the prior written authorization of LJB. Any unauthorized use, reproduction, or modification of an LJB drawing is done at the user’s own risk, and the user agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LJB from and against any and all claims, liability, and expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from such use, reproduction, or modification.

16.  Changes to This Privacy Policy. LJB may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the website or submission of information after an update means the updated Privacy Policy applies to information collected after the effective date of the update.
