Last week, LJB Inc. was honored as a 2020 Outstanding Diversity Organization by the Dayton Business Journal. LJB received the top award in the medium sized organization category.
The awards recognize organizations that harness diversity within their workforces and actively champion the business case for diversity within the community or their industries.
“We have made significant and intentional improvements in the diversity of our workforce over the past few years,” said LJB CEO Rod Sommer. “The unique perspectives drive innovation, strengthen our workforce, and expand our skills, expertise and experience. And, it creates new opportunities for all our staff.”
Some of the key elements of LJB’s diversity program include:
- Proactive recruiting from diverse job boards, such as Vet Connect and People with Disabilities
- Sponsorship of international graduates—LJB’s staff includes ten employees from seven different countries
- Enhancement of the firm’s benefits package to include a “floating holiday” to accommodate religious and cultural needs
