Benchwood Station Transportation Improvements

  •

LJB helped shape the future of the Benchwood Station District, Butler Township’s primary commercial corridor and a key destination for residents, visitors and businesses. Following a corridor study of Miller Lane and the Interstate 75/Benchwood Road interchange, LJB identified opportunities to improve roadway operations, enhance pedestrian connectivity and strengthen the district’s identity through streetscape and branding improvements. The study also provided cost estimates, implementation strategies, project phasing recommendations and funding support.

Building on the study’s recommendations, LJB completed the final design for a series of corridor improvements that included a roundabout at Miller Lane and Maxton Road, a three-lane roadway section with curb and gutter, upgraded sidewalks, decorative lighting, streetscape enhancements, signal improvements and mid-block pedestrian crossings. Together, these improvements were designed to reduce vehicle speeds, calm traffic and create a safer, more walkable environment that supports continued growth and investment throughout the Benchwood Station District.
