Brookshire Brothers

Founded in 1921, Brookshire Brothers is an employee-owned grocery store in Lufkin, TX. To better serve its 110 locations, the company was ready to build a new meat processing facility to increase production, as well as to effectively package and label products for distribution.

LJB was brought in by Kingham Dalton Wilson (KDW) to provide structural design of a new addition due to our long-standing partnership and our track record of providing cost-efficient designs—although this was the first temperature-controlled project the team worked on together.

The facility features a 24,520-square-foot freezer, a 6,600-square-foot meat processing room, a 4,600-square-foot office area, and an ice room. The structural steel building also included insulated metal panels, concrete tilt-wall panels, and structural steel, along with an elevated composite floor system.
