Mosaic Office Building

LJB Inc. provided the structural design for Mosaic’s new Florida Operations Center in Lithia, Florida. The Mosaic Company is one of the world’s leading producers and marketers of concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients.

This design-build project is a four-story, 113,600-square-foot building constructed with tilt-up concrete wall panels. Some of the large panels weigh more than 196,000 lbs. and exceed 64 feet in height. The design goals of the building were to create a high-performing, sustainable facility that strongly reflects Mosaic’s brand and culture, and to do so cost effectively.

One of the unique sustainable design features of the building is the high reflectivity, low heat-gain glazing that maintains low heat loads on the mechanical system, and decreases utility demand.
