Rombach Avenue Improvements

This project implemented critical safety countermeasures and repaved a 2.19-mile section of Rombach Avenue (US 22), including a one-way street section (eastbound) on a horizontal curve that ties into two-way section.

LJB also designed the reconstruction of seven traffic signals, removal of three unwarranted signals, the incorporation of two ramp signals, and the coordination of nine signals through the corridor into a cohesive signal system. The system used spread spectrum radio communications, siren-based emergency vehicle preemption, radar detection, and painted mast arm signal supports.

The area includes dense commercial, industrial and general office land uses, as well as neighborhood properties, which all required access control measures. LJB quickly mobilized the design team to complete the design in less than 10 months.
